You may have caught some of the news stories about the Oklahoma State Board of Education:
On May 25th of 2023, I spoke before that board (yes, I
was nervous).
Here is my written speech which was the basis for my
remarks:
I'm Jay Hall from Oklahoma City [I now live in Tampa].
I'm a graduate of Oh-Trip-C where I had the privilege to
interview Maya Angelou and I have two Math degrees from OU.
"Death and Destruction are never satisfied,
and neither are
the eyes of man." Pr. 27:20
Speaking of Math, I'd like to share an equation ...

Is Love, Sex? Is
Sex, Love?
I love my wife, I work hard and sacrifice for my family -
that's love.
Love is a positive giving between persons.
Porn is harmful, evil and destructive - our children
should not be exposed to it.
King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived - bedsides
Christ, of course, said this:
"Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your
wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do. Always be clothed in white, and always anoint
your head with oil. Enjoy life with your
wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given
you under the sun - all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and
in your toilsome labor under the sun.
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the
realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning
nor knowledge nor wisdom." (Eccl. 9:7-10)
Porn is the opposite of keeping fire in the fireplace,
wearing clothes, marital fidelity and working harder and smarter! (@ this point
I mentioned Mike Rowe)
Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, said, "If you love
me, obey my commandments." (Jn. 14:15)
God wrote the Ten Commandments on tablets of stone with his own finger
(Ex. 31:18) where it says, "You shall not commit adultery." (Ex.
20:14). And Jesus clarified the command,
"You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a
woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
(Mt. 5:27,28)
Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, that's M-O-R-S-E, of the Ruth
Institute said this,
"The human person is meant for love, and the human
body cries out to be fruitful." [1]
Porn provides neither.
Plato had no qualms regarding legal restrictions on
sexual excess:
"I had an idea for reinforcing the law about the
natural use of the intercourse which procreates children
... it has been made according to nature; also, it
effects a debarment from erotic fury and insanity, all kinds of adultery and
all excesses in drink and food, and it makes man truly affectionate to their
own wives: other blessings also would ensue, in infinite number, if one could
make sure of this law." (The Laws 838-839) [2]
Are you familiar with the mythical tale of King Pentheus of Thebes (Euripides and Ovid)? Dionysus comes to Thebes with his group of women, known as the Maenads, who are devoted to Bacchus the god of wine. These bare naked ladies participate in secret rituals of frenzied dancing. Pentheus observes this spectacle from a distance and is curious. He disguises himself as a woman to get a closer look. Outsiders are forbidden from their party, so the Maenads tear King Pentheus limb from limb. Pentheus' mother Agave, who also follows Dionysus, carries the King's head around as a trophy, mistakenly thinking it was the head of a wild animal. Uncontrolled Eros may lead to madness and even death. [3]
I'm originally from Oklahoma and I'm a proud member of
the Choctaw Nation.
However, I grew up in Northern Virginia. Our youth group rode bikes from Mt. Vernon to
DC. Would George Washington allow porn
in public schools?
Maybe we should organize a Humble Married People march?
Who wants to join me?!
