Ben Carson - Friend of Creation


In 1987, Dr. Benjamin Carson was the first surgeon to separate twins conjoined at the head.  At age 32, Benjamin Carson became Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins.  In Beverly Hills in 2006 Dr. Carson was part of a panel discussion on evolution along with Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett and Francis Collins.  Dr. Carson opposed evolution.  Dr. Carson received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2008.
 
Carson defends creation around the 22 minute mark in this video.  Dr. Carson had a very interesting confrontation with Donald Johanson of Lucy fame.  Let me allow the good doctor to speak for himself:

The Evolution Conspiracy


The Evolution Conspiracy is a must-see classic creationist film that features John Morris (President of icr), Luther Sunderland (Darwin’s Enigma), Russell Humphreys, Wendell Bird, Roger Oakland (Understand the Times) and Norman Geisler among others.  A number of evolutionist scholars are also interviewed. You can see this superb video here. 

The powerful presentation demolishes the arguments for Darwinism.  Even evolutionist museum officials admit that the missing links are still missing.  D. James Kennedy appears and so does one of my favorite creationist broadcasters, Ian Taylor (Creation Moments).  The film also makes the connection between Darwin and the New Age movement.

Young Earth Science (YES)

YES as shorthand for Young Earth Science is on the rise.  We use many TLA’s (3 letter acronyms) every day:
If you google “Young Earth Science” you get 690K hits.  Change the search to: YES "young earth" geology catastrophism, and you obtain 244K items.
Our recent blog highlighted the pro-YES website of Bob Enyart who has interviewed such notables as Lawrence Krauss (The Physics of Star Trek) and Jack Horner (Jurassic Park).  There is a site YoungEarthScientist.com dedicated to “students and teachers who recognize the overwhelming scientific evidence supporting the history of a Young Earth …”  Jeannie Fulbright is a homeschool science author.  She has a web page titled “young-earth-science” where she states, “… there is scientific evidence for a young earth … which is often mentioned throughout our science course narratives. [1]  The Puritan Board also has a YES discussion page.  Reasons to Affirm a Young Earth by Paul Humber supports YES:  “… there is good scientific evidence that the earth is less than ten thousand years old. …[it can be] shown that scientific data supports the [young] age of the earth…”  Cambridge University Press published The New Catastrophism by Derek Ager, former President of the British Geological Association, in 1995.  Ager shows that most rock formations were formed rapidly and not over millions of years.  There is even a facebook page:  www.facebook.com/youngearthscience  which proclaims that, “More and more scientific evidence is mounting suggesting the earth is much younger than [mainstream] scientists have thought.”  Are “likers” of Old Earth Fallacies (OEF) following a ritual when they reject YES?

Beyond the gates of OEF delirium we can awaken to the true evidence for YES.  In Lake Walensee (Switzerland) over 300 layers formed in 160 years. [2]  Roger Patterson, who has studied bias in high school science textbooks, states,

The layer known as the Navajo Sandstone contains minerals that were eroded from the Appalachian Mountains. … The Tapeats Sandstone contains large boulders and was deposited in storm conditions over an immense area of North America.  The Redwall Limestone extends from the Southwest to Pennsylvania and Tennessee – obviously deposited as the result of a massive catastrophe. [3]
An amazing dating anomaly involves the volcanic ash layer nearby where Richard Leakey found Skull 1470 had been dated at 212M to 230M years by the K-Ar method. [4]  This age, of course, was rejected because of PreSuppositions regarding human origins.  Kata Tjuta (i.e. Olgas) in central Australia is an exhibit for YES:  “Even evolutionary geologists admit that the large boulders in the layers of Kata Tjuta must have been deposited relatively quickly by a torrent of water” Patterson explains. [5]  YES deniers are on a vicious roundabout when they refuse to get off the OEF train and explore geochronology options.
Darwiniacs are going for the Billions, but the hard facts lead to YES.  At Ramshorn Peak in Montana there is a polystrate tree that is 34 feet tall! [6] 
Polystrate fossils indicate rapid deposition.  The lack of fulgurites (lightning glass) points to YES. [7]  There is a clear deviation of the expected geologic age versus the radiometric date for many samples: [8]
The dashed line represents equality which does not match the general trend of the data.  Clearly there are problems with the dating methods.  The Samarium-Neodymium dating method has undergone a drastic revision.  According to Physics Today, the half-life went from 103M to 68M years.  Does this indicate some fatal flaws in the PreSuppositions of radioactive dating?  University of Washington research concludes that most harmful protein-coding human mutations arose in the past 5,000 to 10,000 years.  Could this be because humans have only been around that long?  Certain moon rocks have remnant magnetism which runs contrary to a moon that’s allegedly billions of years old. [9]  The sun is almost a perfect sphere – if it were as old as assumed it should have flattened out somewhat. [10]
Award winning scifi author and former aeronautical engineer James Hogan points out that, “Nuclear tracks on interplanetary dust particles collected in the Earth’s stratosphere also indicate an age no greater than ten thousand years.” [11]  Hogan is truly close to the edge of YES.  Even anti-YES writer Ronald Bailey admits, “… modern [mainstream] geologists do acknowledge that there have been essentially global catastrophes in the past.  The extreme volcanism of the Siberian Traps nearly wiped out all life at the end of the Permian period 251 million years ago …”

There is an eye-opening chapter in Sacred Cows in Science edited by Norbert Smith (Ph.D. Zoology, Texas Tech) on Global Catastrophe. [12]  If most of the Geologic Column was deposited in one event, then OEF collapses.  Of the hundreds of flood legends throughout the world it is evident that the account of the Great Flood in Genesis is the most accurate.

Why have so many adopted OEF?  Charles Lyell’s Principles of Geology (pub. 1830) brainwashed generations of geologist into gradualism.  Writing in Science, W. D. Allmon said that Lyell’s teachings led to “… the rejection of sudden or catastrophic events in the face of positive evidence for them, for no reason other than they were not gradual.” [13]  J. Harlan Bretz (d. 1981) views about the catastrophic origin of the Channeled Scablands were rejected for 40 years because of the bias towards gradualism. [14]  If the OEF fans refuse to join the YES cohort, they will truly become the owners of a lonely heart.  YES we can!  From OEF to YES – it can happen today!  Just say “YES.”

Contact, Carl Sagan and the Pi Code

In the film and book Contact by Carl Sagan (d. 1996), the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) plays a key role.  Jody Foster was the star of the movie.  In Contact, the intelligent signal arrives in the form of radio waves from space.  Right here on our planet we can find an intelligent signal in DNA!

Icarus is a prestigious planetary science journal.  Carl Sagan was the editor of this journal from 1968 to 1979.  Vladimir shCherbak and Maxim Makukov have written a paper in Icarus suggesting that DNA itself provides the SETI goldmine:

As the actual scenario for the origin of terrestrial life is far from being settled, the proposal that it might have been seeded intentionally cannot be ruled out. A statistically strong intelligent-like “signal” in the genetic code is then a testable consequence of such scenario. Here we show that the terrestrial code displays a thorough precision-type orderliness matching the criteria to be considered an informational signal. [1]

shCherbak and Makukov further state,

The signal displays readily recognizable hallmarks of artificiality, among which are the symbol of zero, the privileged decimal syntax and semantical symmetries. Besides, extraction of the signal involves logically straightforward but abstract operations, making the patterns essentially irreducible to any natural origin. [2]

shCherbak and Makukov make an explosive conclusion, “The patterns are shown to match the criteria of an intelligent signal.”  DNA contains information and info only comes from intelligence!

In Contact, the SETI signal starts with prime numbers (2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19,23,29,31,37 …). [3]  In the story, Ellie Arroway says, “No astro-physical process is likely to generate prime numbers … this looks like the real thing [a genuine SETI message]. [4]  DNA also applies primes!

Evolution News summarizes the findings:

The proline nucleon [protons and neutrons] transfer is like a decoder ring that makes the signal apparent and all the blocks balance out. Some other signs of artificiality are the fact that nucleon sums are multiples of 037; the stop codons [triplets that specify amino acids] act as zero in a decimal system, and all the three-digit decimals (111, 222, 333, 444, 555, 666, 777, 888, and 999) appear at least once in the code, "which also looks like an intentional feature" [according to shCherbak and Makukov].

DNA also has arithmetic progressions!  654 (-1), 789 (+1) and 369 (+3).

The prime number seven also plays a significant role in the genetic code.  Seven Day Week = Six Days of Creation + Sabbath.  If you take the reciprocal of 7 and plot the digits you get an ellipse (1/7=.142857142857…).  Interestingly, every planet travels in an ellipse!

An ellipse is much like a circle (both are conic sections).  In the book version of Contact there is a SETI message in the digits of pi (3.1415926…). [5]  Using base-11 math, the digits of pi provide a picture similar to this:

Sagan provides the clear conclusion:

The universe was made on purpose, the circle said.  In whatever galaxy you happen to find yourself, you take the circumference of a circle, divide it by its diameter, measure closely enough, and uncover a miracle – another circle, drawn kilometers downstream of the decimal point.  There would be richer messages farther in. … In the fabric of space and in the nature of matter, as in a great work of art, there is, written small, the artist’s signature.  Standing over humans, gods, and demons, subsuming Caretakers and Tunnel builders, there is an intelligence that antedates the universe. [5] 

At the beginning of the chapter “The Artist’s Signature” Sagan quotes the following:

The universe seems… to have been determined and ordered in accordance with number, by the forethought and the mind of the creator of all things; for the pattern was fixed, like a preliminary sketch, by the domination of number preexistent in the mind of the world-creating God.  (Nicomachus of Gerasa, Arithmetic I, 6, c. 100 AD). [6]

Even the denizens of Star Trek® know an intelligent pattern when they find it.  The character Boma in the story “That Which Divides” states, “I was able to detect a regular pattern … Whatever that thing is, it’s not a naturally occurring phenomenon.  Someone or something put it there, deliberately.” [7]  Was DNA put on Earth deliberately?

If we saw two children in the maternity ward today with the labels SPYKE and PEARL, would we conclude that these are codes for the last five digits of their weights in kg (which would be random)?  NO‼  We know that these are their names intelligently chosen by their parents.

One wonders how Sagan would respond to the work of shCherbak and Makukov.  In the very book where Sagan tackles spirituality, he fails to deal with a truly significant work on that topic published 6 years before his death – Truth in Religion by Mortimer Adler.  Adler was the Associate Editor of The Great Books series and co-author of the popular How to Read a Book.  Adler was also the chairman of the Board of Editors of the Encyclopedia Britannica for some time.  According to Adler, “The philosophical argument for God’s existence establishes a conclusion affirming God’s existence beyond a reasonable doubt.” [8]  Sagan was very critical of the Anthropic Principle, such as expounded in the film The Privileged Planet. [9]  In response to the question of whether the Lord Jesus Christ was simply written into history, Sagan said, “It’s certainly possible.” [10]

As I watched the four creatures, I saw something that looked like a wheel on the ground beside each of the four-faced creatures.  This is what the wheels looked like: They were identical wheels, sparkling like diamonds in the sun.  It looked like they were wheels within wheels, like a gyroscope.  They went in any one of the four directions they faced, but straight, not veering off.  The rims were immense, circled with eyes (Ez. 1:15-18, Msg).

History Channel Supports the Global Flood?


The History Channel has recently shown The Bible miniseries produced by Roma Downey (of Touched by an Angel fame) and Mark Burnett.

In the first episode we see Noah atop the Ark.  We pan out and see the Ark on a world sea with a rainbow in the background.  The view continues to zoom out until the entire planet is seen covered with a worldwide ocean!

In the book version of the History Channel special, The Story of God and All of Us, the Global Flood is clearly endorsed:

Because the evil that Adam and Eve introduced has spread throughout the world, and God is cleaning the earth so mankind can start all over. …
This enormous ship would hold two of each animal.  Once it was complete, God would soak the world in a massive storm, flooding all the lands and killing all of God's creation.  Only the people and animals aboard Noah's ark would live.  God has saved the world by nearly destroying it. [1]

Downey & Barnett seem to think that the Ark was a Large Barge of chaos:

[Noah hears] the bellows of oxen, the whinnies of horses, the bleatings of sheep, and countless other animal cries of distress. … Try as Noah might to muck out the stalls daily, the hold of the ark is a foul place, with little ventilation. … A geyser of water spurts through a new leak in the hull. The women scream. Noah battles to stand and plug the hole. [1]

Downey should have read John Woodmorappe’s comprehensive treatment of issues like these, Noah's Ark: A Feasibility Study.  Maybe Roma Downey needs to be touched by an angel (Acts 12:6-11).

This exile is just like the days of Noah for me:  I promised then that the waters of Noah would never again flood the earth.  I’m promising now no more anger, no more dressing you down (Is. 54:9, Msg).

Some renegade dinos killed ½ of the children on a learning expedition near Huqinect last month.  Why did this calamity happen?  I AM THE PROBLEM!  Original Sin is real.  The Fall brought the Curse [Ge 3].  
 
All my progeny, from the Top Invariant [N Pole] to the Bottom Invariant [S Pole], know that I disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit, the mangro.  The punishment affected not only Eva [Eve] and me, but also the animals, the plants, this fabulous planet and even the stars [Ge 3:14-19, Job 15:15].  After we left Paradise, the bad weather came.  Now I sulk in my anxious sleep.

Since I’ve become a mercenary against myself, there is such a thing as NeckRot.  I called it that because it will rot your neck.  Let me express my feelings with a poem:
